Nels Williams
Professional sports journalist and broadcast announcer
Nels Williams is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Sports Media & Analytics and a minor in Political Science, seeking a career in the sports media industry.
He became one of the youngest radio hosts out of college for an ESPN affiliate station by returning as the host of "The Drive," at ESPN Blacksburg, which he used to co-host and produce. On top of hosting "The Drive," which aired every weekday from 4-6 p.m., he was heavily involved with the station's social media, marketing, and sales.
His training in the Sports Media program, combined with his extensive experiences, equips him with a broad range of skills, including sideline reporting, co-hosting and producing a weekly radio show, social media management, game analysis writing, in-studio hosting, live-show producing, on-site reporting, and play-by-play announcing. He is ready to add to your team and make your next broadcast bigger and better.
